Cocktails + Sales // FREE // Friday, November 28, 5-9 PM

Kicking off the Farm + Flea weekend with spirits and fun will be the Black Friday Soirée, from 5 9 PM.

Admission is free and open to the public. The soirée is an opportunity for shoppers to celebrate and peruse selected food and beverage purveyors in advance of the weekend. The array of tastings and offerings includes craft cider, beer and bourbon; fresh oysters; tonics, elixirs, bitters, and potions, local pork belly sandwiches, impeccable cheeses, witchy wreaths and garlands; lactofermented hot sauces; and more by the likes of Nine Pin Cider, Chatham Brewing, Hillrock Distillery, Brooklyn Oyster Party, Raven and Boar, Poor Devil Pepper Co., Chaseholm Farm, Good Fight Herb Co., and Farmhand Flowers.

A signature cocktail will be created for the event with alllocal ingredients from Hudson Standard, Harvest Spirits, Lady Jayne’s Alchemy and Comb Gin. Music will be provided by DJ Dan Bunny of John Doe Records and Georgia & Co.

Friday night also features a book signing by Tessa Edick, the Founder and Executive Director of FarmOn! Foundation, who will be selling and signing copies of her newest book “Hudson Valley Food and Farming.” There will also be a chance to preview “For The Record”, a “newsletterformat compendium of ridiculousness” described as if “The Farmer’s Almanac, the Whole Earth Catalog, and a Garbage Pail Kid had a baby and no one knew who the father OR the mother was by local collector and purveyor of thoughts Johnny Misheff!”

Up to 3500 people came to the Basilica Hudson this Thanksgiving Day weekend – our largest attendance this season.

This incredible response makes it clear that there is a strong desire to showcase and celebrate the best of what the Hudson Valley has to offer: Farms, Food, Makers, Collectors and Strong Community. People came from all around, many first time visitors were greeted at the door. The positive response from all was overwhelming, this will certainly become a yearly event at Basilica Hudson

Meet our Hudson Collectors and Makers that made this weekend so special.

Thank you Bust Magazine, Modern Farmer Magazine, Green Mountain Energy, City of Hudson and Secret Weapon for sponsoring the event

All the great work by our organizers Elise McMahon, Lauren Giambrone, Tess Diamond, Maggie Carr of Bust and our small Basilica Hudson team made this weekend possible and the food by Nicole LoBue of Alimentary Kitchen made it delicious.

The music was thanks to Wet Spell featuring Pat Linnan, Jim Krewson and Sauerkraut Seth for performing on Saturday and Penn Sultan for performing on Sunday.

Hudson Valley’s Still the One Distillery provided Comb 9 / Jarhead Gin and to Harvest Sprits for the Cornelius Applejack for our Black Friday Soirée Kick-off event! Thank you Fish & Game and Lady Jayne’s Alchemy for designing the cocktails, and Alvaro of Truck Pizza for parking out front and serving the masses all weekend!

Happy holiday season and thank you for all of your support this past year, we look forward to sharing more with you next year.

Thank you David Koch for the lovely time lapse video.
