For the second year in a row, Basilica Hudson co-presented 24-HOUR DRONE: EXPERIMENTS IN SOUND AND MUSIC with Le Guess Who? festival in Utrecht, Netherlands in collaboration with Second Ward Foundation and Wave Farm / WGXC.

We thank all the dedicated drone devotees who made this immersive and all-encompassing sound experience possible – especially the performers, the attentive audience, and our supporters, sponsors, and collaborators.

Together, we made this inclusive, transcendent experience possible with 24 hours of uninterrupted drone – sustained tones shaped by voice or instrumentation – performed from 3 PM on Saturday, April 23 to 3 PM on Sunday, April 24. The hours were made more magical thanks to the hundreds who spent the duration with us, bundled up in blankets, falling in and out of dream, all in the name of sound and communion.

Sound as Experience. Sound as Installation. Sound without the tight hands of Time. To honor sound in a space that enhances it and places it  in a long-form time schedule that allows it to expand. Located in an Industrial Temple of Sound, to honor the making of sound, as a fully immersive experience. Explore. Experiment. Exchange.

– Melissa Auf der Maur, Co-Founder and Director, Basilica Hudson.
