Abundant in the Hudson Valley, chefs and diners alike swoon at this spring delicacy. The 5th Annual Ramp Fest Hudson invites chefs from upstate New York and the big city to craft dishes around the ramp, a wild onion coveted by chefs and diners alike for its strong garlicky aroma and pungent flavor.

Ramp Fest returns to Basilica Hudson and – new to this year – includes collaborations with environmentally-conscious and like-minded organizations. Music will be provided by rockabilly honky-tonk band Chops & Sauerkraut and there will be a cash bar.

Glynwood, Hawthorne Valley, Camphill Village and Green Mountain Energy will participate with educational and hands-on demonstrations (who wants to learn how to pickle ramps?) to renew focus on sustainable agriculture, community, and energy. At 2 PM in the North Hall, a panel discussion on the intersection of sustainable food, energy and community will be led by Glynwood’s Sara Grady and include Fish and Game’s Zak Pelaccio as well as Hawthorne Valley’s Andreas Schneider.
