Farm + Flea Information
Basilica Farm + Flea
A collection of quality products presented by a diverse group of regional makers, farmers, and vintage collectors. Promoting the talents and resources within our community.
WHAT- LARGESCALE FLEA MARKET + FARMSTAND
Kicking off with our “Black Friday Soirée,” the Basilica Hudson will be hosting a Thanksgiving weekend event and marketplace. The marketplace consists of a diverse group of regional makers, farmers, and vintage collectors. Visitors can come to shop, hear music, eat quality foods, attend one of our educational workshops or cultural lectures. With 17,000 sq feet of industrial interior space, this promises to be the only market of its kind in the region. Basilica Farm + Flea will focus on vendor submissions in the Hudson area.
Basilica Farm + Flea is excited to announce its partnering with BUST Magazine’s Craftacular. Modern Farmer Magazine has come on board to help present the local food + farmstand portion of the event, curated by Tess Diamond of Old Field Farm and Lauren Giambrone of Good Fight Herb Co.
We are happy to announce support by Green Mountain Energy, Secret Weapon, and a grant from the City of Hudson Public Events Fund.
Basilica Farm + Flea is being organized by a team of passionate volunteers, consisting of the Basilica Hudson team and local makers, farmers, and shop owners. To apply to be a volunteer, please click here.
WHEN- THANKSGIVING WEEKEND, 2013
Friday November 29th – 5pm – 9pm Black Friday Soirée, opening evening celebration with Cocktails + Sales
Saturday November 30th – 10am – 6pm
Sunday December 1st – 10 am – 6 pm
The scheduled hours were planned with the consideration that most vendors are on a budget during this busy time of year. Friday’s evening event gives you plenty of time to arrive and set up before if you like, or you have the option to simply check in on Saturday or Sunday morning. It is our first year and we are trying our best to anticipate vendors needs, so please feel free to give us any comments on this planning.
WHY – SUPPORTING ALTERNATIVE ECONOMIES
We would like to highlight the abundance of small, authentic businesses located within the Hudson Valley and provide an alternative to the Black Friday “Big Box” holiday shopping experience. Hudson is increasingly being recognized as a destination for quality food, art, antiques, vintage, and history enthusiasts. We unite in our passion for one-of-a-kind things and the city of Hudson.
