Come skateboard in Basilica Hudson!

Basilica Hudson, Toolshed, Super Stories and the Hudson Youth Department are teaming up to build an indoor DIY skate park in Basilica Hudson’s Main Hall for the remaining winter weeks. This park will be available to the community every Thursday and Saturday from 4-7 PM until March 19 at no cost.

The skatepark will kick off with two workshops: a quarter pipe and concrete parking block building workshop on Saturday, February 5, and a spray paint mural workshop on Saturday, February 12.

Helmets will be required for skating if under 18 years of age. Liability waivers will also be required, which you can sign on site or online HERE.

Hudson Youth Department will provide transportation to the workshops as needed. All ages accepted for open skate, but the building workshop is 10+, and the mural workshop is 6+.

You can register for those workshops HERE, where you can also specify transportation needs

Regardless of participation in workshops, people are free to skate inside Basilica during the open skate hours. In addition to the DIY elements built during the workshop, there will be a rail, ramps, a ledge and other features, plus tons of open poured concrete floor to skate on.

Basilica Hudson’s spacious Main Hall is open enough to offer room for social distancing and consistent air flow. With the enduring pandemic, masks will be required during the workshops and inside at all times.
