Basilica Farm & Flea Holiday Market is filled to the rafters with vintage and handmade clothes, as well as handcrafted jewelry to suit all tastes and budgets. Farm & Flea favorite and Hudson local Nina Z will return, offering one-of-a-kind handmade clogs. Now the proud owner of a multidisciplinary arts storefront on Hudson’s Warren Street, clothing brand ENKYU will bring her handmade jumpsuits and other clothing, crafted with comfort and quality in mind from natural fibers and recycled denim. Another of Hudson’s many women-owned businesses, Shana Lee Jewelry will bring a selection of her ready-to-wear pieces, as well as being available at the booth all weekend to discuss custom orders. Fashion lovers will also be able to browse the wares of a number of other Farm & Flea first-timers, from Aoko Su’s handcrafted jewelry to Kingston-based Sundust’s vintage selection and artist YokoSnoopy’s custom, hand-painted and screen-printed designs. Jewelers Melissa Easton, Russell JonesStudioSophiaSophia, Judi Powers and Tiny Anvil will also be returning, each bringing with them hugely original and unique wearable artworks.


From soaps to home goods, Basilica Farm & Flea Holiday Market has all you need to keep cozy and well as the winter sets in. Newcomers Mater Soaps join Basilica Farm & Flea favorites like Hudson Naturals and Dancing Bare Soap offering up luxurious handmade soaps and bath products. Good Fight Herb Co’s tinctures are handcrafted using local ingredients to help support a healthy immune system and all-round wellbeing. Likewise, Whole Harmony have been crafting award-winning botanical tea blends, tonics and plant medicine since 2010 at their Medicinal Herb Farm in CT. Basilica Farm & Flea regulars Tidy Thyme return with their range of non-toxic cleaning products and home goods, produced in the understanding that clean is not simply the lack of ‘germs’ but also the absence of toxic chemicals and toxic energy. Meanwhile, those interested in grooming should check out Roosevelt Grooming Company’s full line of grooming products using natural and animal-friendly formulations and restored vintage straight razors.


Basilica Farm & Flea Holiday Market 2018 will feature a wide array of craftspeople catering to the home and garden. Old favorites Hudson Valley Seed Co return, celebrating the diverse beauty and unique stories of the Hudson Valley, selling only sustainably grown, open-pollinated, non-GMO seeds. Ceramicists from Lail Design to L&M Studio and Davistudio will offer home goods to suit all tastes. Furniture makers will also be showcasing their one-of-a-kind wares at this year’s Holiday Market, with green-minded zero waste modernist designers FN Furniture among the highlights. Those looking for fabrics will find much to enjoy, from LiaMolly’s handcrafted jacquards to The Binderie’s large-scale pieces and Nahual’s embroidered pieces drawing on traditional Mexican handcraft techniques. Several woodworkers will also return, from Aubry to NYWoodworX.


As well as prepared meals from Raven & Boar and Breezy Hill’s creperie, and specially crafted drinks by Lil’ Deb’s Oasis’ bar, a whole range of packaged foods will be on offer to leave your holiday dinner table fit to bursting. There will be delicious treats from Chaseholm Farm Creamery and Jacuterie cured meats, and spices from Chef D and Rockerbox Spice Co. Hosta Hill will return with their range of vibrant, locally crafted, naturally fermented cultured foods. Newcomers Hedonic Tonic and ImmuneSchein Ginger Elixirs join old favorites The Hudson Standard with flavorsome syrups and tonics to add to your favorite drinks. A number of distilleries will also be offering up goodies from whisky to gin. Sweet treats come from the likes of Fruition Chocolate, Strudel House and Honey’s baked goods. Families should also be sure to check out Anarchy Apiaries’ booth, which will include a honeycomb display with live bees!


Basilica Farm & Flea Holiday Market is a treat for the whole family, with a wide range of kids’ goodies and activities for the younger members of the family. SO Handmade will return with their range of fun and eco-friendly toys for children, giving kids the chance to explore their own imaginations and engage in self directed play. The girls from Hudson’s own Perfect Ten After-School will be back, offering face-painting, henna hand-painting and interactive coloring activities at their booth. For young fashion-lovers, a number of makers of unique kids’ clothes will also be in attendance, from Noni Bee to Petit Pilou. Going Gnome will also be back with their unusual and unique hand-felted toys and felting kits.


Every one of the more than 100 vendors at Basilica Farm & Flea Holiday Market is an independent craftsperson and innovative creative brain working across a whole range of fields and displaying the wide range of talent in the region. For lovers of visual arts, though, there is plenty on offer to suit all tastes. Folk artist Mary Shelley will be making her Basilica Farm & Flea debut, showcasing her self-taught art carved in white pine and painted with acrylic paints, and giving a live wood carving demonstration at her booth. Farm & Flea regular Lumpland will return, with ceramics, textiles, sculpture, printed goods and coloring books inspired by the natural forms of coral reefs and lush forests. Basilica Farm & Flea first-timer and Germantown local Some Things Take Time will also be in attendance, with a fanciful and functional clothing and accessory line created with wild plants and natural fabrics.
