BUY LOCAL, VINTAGE & HANDMADE

SATURDAY May 6, 10am – 6pm

SUNDAY May 7, 11am – 5pm

As Spring ushers in a new season at Basilica Hudson, we are thrilled to jump in our seventh year of programming with our second annual Basilica Farm & Flea Spring Market, in time for Mother’s Day gifts and the end of hibernation season celebration! With such a variety of makers, collectors and farmers harnessing the spirit and beauty of the Hudson Valley in their own way, Spring Market will create a dynamic weekend of celebration and renewal. Picture spring dresses, vintage garden sets, wild edibles and maybe even a maypole.

Applications are now open and will be accepted through March 8th.

Visitors can shop handmade and vintage goods, purchase locally-made added value food products and eat farm-fresh food. General admission for the whole weekend is only $5 and free for children under 12.

ABOUT
Born Thanksgiving Weekend 2013 as the Anti-Black Friday big sister goddess, Basilica Farm & Flea is part timeless flea and farmer’s market and part 21st century craft and design fair, showcasing the wealth and splendor of the Hudson Valley’s artisanal talents. Basilica Farm & Flea is inspired by the abundance of passionate and talented farmers, collectors and artisans in the Hudson Valley.

Each market features a diverse group of regional vendors selling their wares alongside locally-sourced, farm-fresh foods. The markets embody love of vintage and recycled, locally-sourced agriculture and the beautifully handmade. With over 10,000 square feet of raw space, Basilica Farm & Flea is the only market of this scale in the region, an integral part of Basilica Hudson’s arts and cultural programs.

Two markets are presented each year: Spring Market in May and Holiday Market during Thanksgiving weekend, in addition to a Mini Farm & Flea on the Sunday of our annual Basilica SoundScape weekend each September.

By participating in Basilica Farm & Flea, vendors and attendees directly support Basilica Hudson’s mission to foster sustainable community. With attendance growing each year, Basilica Hudson is reaching new local and regional audiences while offering important platforms for avant-garde and emerging artists, local chefs, farmers, artisans and other talents to engage and exchange with new audiences. Proceeds from admissions and vendor fees support ongoing operations for the organization, and allows Basilica Hudson to continue to develop and present its programs.

Special thanks to our collaborators and allies who have been with us since the start:

Elise Mcmahon of LikeMindedObjects, bringing the space to life for Farm & Flea.

Elise is an artist and designer who works with furniture and other life accessories. Under the belief that with the right surroundings life can feel as potent as performance, Elise combines machine and hand made manufacturing systems for consistent production of curious one of a kind objects. LMO is also invested in finding and creating alternative avenues for sharing the work of other artists.

Lauren Giambrone founder of Good Fight Herb Co. and Wild Gather : Hudson Valley School of Herbal Studies, bringing the farm + wilds to Farm & Flea.

Community Herbalist and Educator, Lauren has been with BFF from it’s incarnation in 2013. Her work brings her close to the land and the amazing farmers that work it. We are proud to call her a friend, neighbor and fellow organizer and participant in our region and marketplace.
