JUPITER NIGHTS – Basilica Hudson’s weekly series of arts events in our Gallery Building – continues with an evening of psychedelic rock, swirling synths and saxophone from Steady Sun (Catskill, NY) and Wood River (Brooklyn , NY).

Sewn with patterns of obsessive composition and stitched together with threads of psychedelia, Steady Sun’s cohesion comes from a fanatical attention to detail, and a sheer love for making sound.

Having previously called New York City their home, four-fifths of Steady Sun have since relocated to the Hudson Valley in the last several years: the birthplace of several members, and a region serving as inspiration for all that is to come.

Wood River is a Brooklyn based band lead by multi instrumentalist Charlotte Greve.

Expect back beats, through composed melodies, enigmatic lyrics and grooves, bathed in swirling synths, alto saxophone, electric bass and guitars – Music that is as uncategorizable as the musicians are versatile. A captivating blend of jazz, ambient and rock music with a rarely heard compositional rigor.
