Basilica Hudson continues its exhibition All Hands, a presentation of Hudson Valley artists working in craft-adjacent disciplines, curated by Jessica Wallen originally for UPSTATE ART WEEKEND.
Artists Sean Desiree, Alison McNulty, Bob Braine, Leslie Reed and b-e-i-n-g-s-o-u-n-d embrace historical techniques and materials while addressing present-day questions of sustainability and preservation. Media includes sculpture, sewing work with human hair and fur, and woodworking. Public programs (schedule TBA) will focus on skill, education, and the cultural significance of craft as it relates to domestic, gendered, historical and indigenous object making.
