DIRECTOR’S LETTER: THINK LOCAL THIS GIVING TUESDAY
Dear friends of Basilica,
For the last 8 years, Thanksgiving in Hudson has been framed by a bustling Basilica Farm & Flea Holiday Market.
As one of our most far-reaching events of the season, presenting 100+ vendors and hosting up to 10k people over the weekend, Basilica Farm & Flea embodies a core of Basilica’s mission: to support and elevate the Hudson Valley’s creative economy and passionate small businesses. As an antidote to big box Black Friday, Basilica Farm & Flea celebrates gathering around quality goods, empowered individuals and great food all while shopping locally.
Though we will miss the spirit and camaraderie of the in-person market this year, we are thrilled to present the Basilica Farm & Flea Virtual Market for the next month, FREE of charge for vendors and a call to shop LOCAL + online this holiday season. With support from the Hudson Tourism Board and our longstanding Farm & Flea collaborator Elise McMahon of LikeMindedObjects, the Virtual Market allows us to support makers and artisans during a time of financial hardship that has been particularly challenging for small businesses.

Basilica was built to support independent creatives in arts and culture who often live market to market and gig to gig. The exchange between those individuals and our generous and curious audience is central to all we have done since our founding in 2010. First and foremost this holiday season, we thank YOU.
This Giving Tuesday we ask you to consider supporting a local business by doing some of your holiday shopping through this great group of local vendors. From jewelry, to felts, to herbal tinctures and treats, this is all a chance for meaningful gift giving.
Happy Thanksgiving to all, and we look forward to communing with you on the other side.
