I AM AN ARTIST THAT CREATES DRONE MUSIC OR ART. CAN I PERFORM?
Thank you for your interest. Our open call artist submission period is open Jan 25 – Feb 23. To submit, fill out the details of your project using THIS FORM. If you are planning to submit, please bear in mind that due to the overwhelming — and amazing! — interest in 24-HOUR DRONE, we may not be able to respond to individual requests. We will prioritize those submissions by artists who have not yet performed at Basilica during our previous two 24-HOUR DRONES in 2015, 2016 and 2017, as well as projects that reflect nonwestern or underrepresented arts and cultures or projects that are participatory / interactive. We are not accepting submissions for our international programs.
24-HOUR DRONE ARTIST SUBMISSION
HOW DO I GET THERE?
Located only two hours by train from NYC, and just across the street from the Amtrak station, Hudson, NY is positioned on a major thoroughfare between New York CIty, Montreal, and Boston, easily accessible via train or car. The striking waterfront location of this historic city serves as a gateway to riches of the Hudson Valley. Reflecting the historical and agricultural spirit of the Hudson Valley, Hudson is increasingly recognized as a destination for music, food, art, antique, vintage, and history enthusiasts.
Basilica Hudson is located at 110 South Front Street, Hudson, NY 12534.
Car pooling is the most affordable way to get to Hudson. It’s a two hour drive from NYC, and with a full car and one tank of gas, you are here cheap and fast! Don’t have a car? Sign up for Zip Car. The train is the most fun way to travel to Hudson. Two hours from Penn Station, the train runs along the beautiful river, has a snack car. Basilica is conveniently located 400 feet south of the Hudson NY Amtrak station. However, the trains sell out quickly and get expensive as availability runs out, so you must book ASAP. Train tickets are 100% refundable — better to be safe than sorry – Book now!
CAN I CATCH A CAB?
There are a number of taxi services in Hudson. However, we suggest you call them early to make a reservation. As they typically don’t run after 9pm (with few exceptions), they are best for daytime pickups.

IS THERE AN ATM ON SITE?
The closest ATMs are at the Hudson Amtrak station (daytime) and the Half Moon Bar (nighttime), both a short walk up South Front Street.
IS BASILICA HANDICAP ACCESSIBLE?
Yes, Basilica includes ADA-accessible entrances, exits, and bathrooms.
CAN I BRING MY DOG?
No. Due to both Board of Health regulations regarding food and the sheer volume of this event, dogs (or pets of any kind) are not allowed. The only exception is service dogs.
WHAT SHOULD I PACK?
Because Basilica is a unique industrial setting with limited seating, drone attendees should bring camping pads, yoga mats and/or pillows; sleeping bags/blankets, warm and comfortable clothes, bottles for refill at Basilica’s water fountain, and endurance-enhancing snacks.
CAN I LEAVE AND COME BACK?
Absolutely. One DRONE ticket includes reentry, in case you need to take a breather.
IS THIS SUITABLE FOR KIDS?
We have had parents that have brought their babies and small children, but the event isn’t specifically geared towards families. This event is unique in that it presents an opportunity for many people to slow down and sit in stillness, while at other times can be louder than you thought possible. It’s up to you; you know your child best! If you bring your kids to music shows, we suggest you get them sufficient ear protection. Note: there may be adult content during our video program.
General note: Basilica Hudson is a safe space. Aggressive behavior, violating others’ personal space, unwanted contact, etc. will not be tolerated. Security and event staff will be available throughout the duration of the event.
